Bubble Hockey Brands Guide
The fun of the game is in the name!
Imagine living in a bubble like the unfortunate sick boy in the movie, Bubble Boy, or being stuck in an artificial, dome-encased world like the hero in the Truman Show! A miserable thought, indeed. However, the little hockey players inside a bubble hockey table are exceptions to this experience, as they seem to have tons of fun scoring goals for human puppeteers out to have a good time.
Brouhaha 'bout brands
While any bubble hockey table offers tons of entertainment, many seasoned players swear by brands. Even though brands like Super Chexx, Shelti, or Carrom boast unique features for their respective series of tables, the fact remains that these bubble hockey tables provide a comparable level of fun and excitement.
The legacy of Chexx
Even as the original Chexx table of the 1980s remains a collectors' item, its worthy successor, Super Chexx is still the toast of arcades, bars, and home recreation rooms everywhere. Manufactured by New York-based Innovative Concepts in Entertainment (ICE), the Chexx bubble hockey tables were the pioneers and still retain the top spot in bubble hockey tables.
Other top players
As bubble hockey gained in popularity, Carrom Company, Shelti, and Harvard entered the fray with their own models. Shelti's the Blue Line Thunderdome table and Carrom's Signature Series tables are a lot of fun and come loaded with many features. Even though they lack a sense of history like the Chexx and Super Chexx tables, they have found favor with aficionados across the country.
Paying the price
While original Chexx tables may cost a small fortune, refurbished Super Chexx tables cost over $2,000 and new tables run to $3,000. The tables by Carrom, Shelti, and Harvard are more economical. Priced between $500 and $1,500, these tables are more affordable than Super Chexx and offer their fair share of fun and excitement.
